DVD slide show: special Xmas gift for students

Christmas is coming again. The great season of celebration seems a bit negative owing to the financial depression flamed by Wall Street since September this year. The rapid spreading of this crazy crisis has undoubtedly cast a shadow on our current peace. Many families lost economic support, what else lost is the confidence of the children at school. Then how to comfort these hurt hearts, the so-called future of the nation, turns out to be an urgent task teachers ought to implement in this special Christmas.

To show your care and love for your students, a DVD slide show sounds to be a perfect Xmas choice. Why we dare to say so? For one thing, most teenagers today are growing in a computerized world, which makes digital reading and writing their wont instead of the traditional paper acquisition. In other words, they are inclined to a dynamic disc show rather than a still paper letter. For another, it is very convenient for students who haven't yet got a computer as your presentation can be shared on a home DVD player. In addition, your PPT presentation written on DVD discs is very easy for distribution to all of your students.

Here you may ask how you can write the presentation onto DVD. That is straight to the point – a smart conversion tool like PowerPoint to DVD Burner Pro can serve you at that once and for all. Moyea PPT to DVD Burner Pro is an all-in-one program that enables you to burn DVD from PowerPoint and convert PPT to video in every popular format (e.g. AVI, MPEG, FLV, 3GP, MP4, VOB, WMV, MOV, etc). It can also preserve all the lively animations and wipes in PowerPoint. Just a few clicks and you can get complete DVD slide show.

DVD slide show: special Xmas gift for students

With a disc copy you've delivered, your students can enjoy the slide show before TV or PC over some yummy sweets. Nice feel, isn't it?

You can set such theme as Santa Claus' workshop, a snow landscape or Jesus in Bethlehem and put evocative words in between. Pictures of hot chocolate, ginger bread, snowman-faced sandwiches and other snacks could also be fit to insert as background for your presentation. Enlightening Xmas songs and exciting videos can highlight your slide show all the way on playing. As to the content, tell a tale of a famous celebrity fighting against similar icy situation or state your determination to assist them ever since. What's most important is, trying your best to rebuild their confidence by weaving your love and consideration into the magic gift.

This is truly a great idea to improve the relationship between your students and you. Furthermore, what you have done with Moyea PPT to DVD Burner Pro will be a miracle on Christmas 2008 in their naïve minds.

Sell Yourself Tactfully with a Video Resume

The unprecedented economic crisis has derived some working people out of a job. Are you one of those unfortunate? If the answer is yes, then don’t be upset, just cheer up and find relief in this essay on how to create a competitive resume.

Resumes play a vital role in job hunting. Generally, an attractive resume can work magic in opening the door of your expecting company. To compete in a hot position, you must be more confident and skilled than other candidates to arouse the first consideration of the recruiters. And all your talents and experience should be reflected in a brief resume, which serves as the first impression to potential employers.

Then how to create a catching resume to best sell yourself? Instead of a traditional paper resume, you can try to introduce yourself in a dynamic video. That’s what we call as Video Resume. A video resume is another way for job applicants to showcase their abilities. It allows prospective employers to see, hear and get a feel for how the applicants present themselves.

With the increase of video-hosting sites like YouTube, usage of recorders, DVDs and broadband Internet, video resumes are taking on more popularity. The resumes in lively video are now widely accepted by companies throughout the world for varying professions. However, the need for objectivity in these videos is still a serious issue. Some recruiters feel that a video alone does not give an employer enough information about a candidate to make a proper evaluation of the applicant's potential and more important skills. One article suggests that

"While a video resume introduces applicants on camera, the value such visual imagery adds is debatable. A text resume allows for specific pieces of information to be parsed out and compared across candidates. When the information is delivered verbally, recruiters need to glean the details themselves."

Nevertheless, the advantages of a video resume overweigh its deficiency. It is expected to be the next wave on the world's job market if efficiently evolved. A simple solution to the objectivity issue is to compose rich content for a video resume. Then you can employ MS PowerPoint, a great authoring tool of content, to bridge the gap of loss in objectivity. Use PowerPoint to combine your resume text with pleasant music, elegant images, intuitive charts and vivid animations, then save the dynamic PowerPoint resume as video using a conversion program (e.g. PowerPoint to Video Converter). If you have to make editions on your video resume, just go to the source PowerPoint resume!

It is easy, isn't it? Now, design an eye-popping video resume out of the easy-to-use PowerPoint to capture more job opportunities.

IMPORTANT:

Before submitting a video resume to a recruiter, please remember:

1. Make sure whether video resumes are accepted by the target recruiters.
2. The video length is properly tailored (usu. 1- 3 min) to avoid fatiguing your audience.

Close Your Cool Presentation with Handouts

A cool presentation often comes with a boom beginning. Yet it can never be called cool given to a poor closing. Clever presenters always manage to extend the effect of their presentation far beyond the podium. Generally, they would close the presentation by leaving a copy as handout to the audience for future use. To the contrary, some speakers seldom give the listeners any copy of their presentation. They may be too careless to consider it, or simply think it a waste of effort to prepare these duplicates.

Don’t handouts of presentation make any sense? Definitely, it means much to both the presenter and the audience. As far as I know, handouts are helpful to give your audience a thorough idea of your presentation. Because you can’t count on them to remember all that you have presented. Or some audiences may be occasional absent of mind when you are speaking. Or some who are late or temporarily out may not stay as long as your entire presentation. Your considerate handouts therefore must be a helpful hand for the audience to review and reuse.

Then, how to make a handout of your presentation? There are two different mediums that are frequently used. One is traditional paper. Summarize the text part on a piece of plain paper, and print, and distribute to every attendant. Use the medium of paper handouts when you are presenting to a small group, or on a casual occasion. The other one is DVD copies. DVD handouts are the beloved of this digital world. Burn all your presentation stuff onto a DVD disc with a PowerPoint to DVD converter, take a stack of DVD copies that clone every subtlety of your PowerPoint original, and give out those copies around once your presentation is over. The DVD handouts are superior to paper ones in that the former reflect utterly faithful and safe to your source presentation, and appeal more to audience of a formal lecture or meeting by showing your respect.

While preparing a handout of your presentation, you’d better keep these tips in mind:
1. Brief paper handouts. It’s annoying for your audience to take a thick pile of papers. So try to summarize the essence of your presentation in one or two pages. Simplicity is the soul of paper handouts.
2. Create neat DVD copies. The DVD copies should be a real mirror of your marvelous presentation. Pick a reliable conversion tool like Moyea PPT to DVD Burner to take the task. Delicacy and accuracy constitute the key value of DVD handouts.

Note: When you distribute paper handouts, don’t do this at the very beginning of your presentation. Otherwise, the audience will lose interest to head on with you as they already know what are going to happen.

Whatever a paper handout or a DVD copy, it supplements your presentation greatly. With the former, you won’t miss out on any crucial point because even if you forget it on the midway, you still have it in the handout. The latter is fine for a sales presentation or business review. Close your presentation with DVD handouts, and get closer to your audience.

Invisible Linking in PowerPoint

By tolhz

Invisible Linking is a technique which allows you to hyperlink your presentation automatically. The traditional way of hyperlinking to specific slide, custom show, or even url is to add the hyperlink onto a button. Thus, once you click on the button, you will be transferred to the location. But what if you want to have this done automatically? Here's how it can be achieved:

1. First of all, remove the button as we don't need to have it there.

2. Instead, add a rectangle that covers the entire slide.

3. Double click on the rectangle, set fill color to 99%. Line color to no line.

4. Click OK.

5. Right click on the invisible autoshape, select Action Settings.

6. Select Mouse Over tab, set it Hyperlink to the Slide/URL/Custom Show etc.

7. To make the mouse over work, Click Add Effect > Entrance > Appear.

8. Set the Start from "On Click" to "After Previous".

9. Double click on the added effect.

10. Select Timing tab, set delay to 0.1 seconds or a time of your preference.

11. Click OK.

12. The last step is to ensure that your mouse pointer is visible at the point of the invisble linking. Depending on how your presentation has been set up, this step is optional if your mouse pointer shows up at the point of invisible linking.

There are several ways to achieve this:

Have the slide show running in Kiosk mode (Slide Show > Set Up Show > Browsed at kiosk) or,

Have the mouse pointer visible during slide show view (Right click in slide show, click Pointer Options > Arrow Options > Visible).

There are many other ways that you can make use of the invisble linking. For instance, this technique allows you to hyperlinking automatically from Presentation A to Presentation B's Custom Show either by a single click/ or not at all. Or perhpas, forcing an end show automatically (rather than looping the presentation) when running in kiosk mode.

Plant PowerPoint to DVD, Share Slideshow on TV Screen

No matter to give a class, host a meeting, sell a product or train a team, MS PowerPoint works utterly nice. But it is never enough when you have to resume a PowerPoint piece on another OS but with lower MS programs or to archive it for future use anywhere else.

To troubleshoot the extensibility of a presentation, you can use an intermediate, something like a converter, to clone your PowerPoint content onto a DVD disc. This is really beneficial - because by converting PowerPoint to DVD, you can easily access a slideshow on either a TV or a different computer, and keep it as a memory copy for more delivery.

Choose the Coolest Converter

There is a dazzling string of conversion choices when you Google with “PowerPoint to DVD”. But be sure to pick a truly smart program. Screen capture tools like TechSmith Camtasia Studio 4 and Adobe Captivate 3 do work well, but such tools won’t cost you a small bulk.

The best PowerPoint to DVD solution should be a combination of efficiency and economy. To be frank, Moyea PPT to DVD Burner is a proper software app that empowers you to create cross-platformed presentation (in form of DVD or video) while saving your budget most at just dozens of dollars. And of course, it is a one-step option to burn every subtlety of the PowerPoint source onto a protective DVD. Give it your PowerPoint content, and it let you take a genuine DVD copy in one second.

Stunning PPT Stuff on TV Screen

When you are presenting to a certain group, you can switch the burnt DVD presentation on a big-screen TV (along with a DVD player). There is no need to worry any more about the problem of lights with projectors. You can keep all or most of the lights on when delivering your presentation with TV. Make sure your text and graphics are large enough to be seen on the small the screen. You will probably have to increase the type size significantly.

Another merit of slideshow on TV is to make you closer to your audience. No need to always sit in front of the podium that barrier between you and your audience. You can step down to join in all those eager ears and make a concise connection.

In brief, planting presentation stuffs onto DVD disc is of great help to amend the deficiency of PowerPoint itself, as it offers a straight way to share your amazing slides on TV and thus deliver your ideas more flexibly.

PPT vs. PPS

If you are a novice user of PowerPoint, you may sometimes get confused by a couple of PPS or PPSX presentations. You may wonder what utterly its difference is from a normal PPT or PPTX extension, and how should he view the PPS presentations in a PPT manner.

Before discussing the difference, you should be aware that no technical difference exists between PPT (or PPTX) and PPS (or PPSX) files. Both of them are based on MS PowerPoint technology.

Compare PPT & PPS

Yet the two presentation extensions show individual focus as in each definition:

PPT is the default file extension for saving presentations in MS PowerPoint 2003 and earlier, while PPTX the default in PowerPoint 2007 and later.

PPS refers to PowerPoint Show, i.e. the show mode extension in PowerPoint 2003 and earlier -- PPS files will run in "play-presentation" mode when double-clicked. Similarly, PPSX works as the show mode in PowerPoint 2007 and later.

Random exchange of extension is available for both PPT and PPS files. It means that you can rename a PPT to a PPS causing no content change; and vice versa. However, this does not work with PPTX and PPSX files, although they share much similarity.

The difference between PPT and PPS lies in how they are treated by PowerPoint. By default, PPT and PPTX files are opened in edit mode that lets you to use all the menus and commands, while PPS and PPSX files in slideshow (play-presentation) mode without a PowerPoint interface. You may need to press the ESC key to exit a PowerPoint Show when it finishes.

Convert PPT to PPS

PPS offers you a complete and stream viewing pleasure of PowerPoint presentations. To convert a PPT file to a PPS, you can try the following two methods:

Tip 1 Rename the PPT file by changing its extension to *.pps. To make that, you may need to uncheck the option "hide extensions for known file types". Or simply go to Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder options > View. Ignore the message of gloom and doom! Note that it does not work in MS PowerPoint 2007.

Tip 2 Open the file in PowerPoint and move the cursor to Save As. Scroll down in the Save as Type box till you find PowerPoint show *.pps.

Convert PPS to PPT

Is there any way of converting a PPS file back to PPT format? Of course yes. Simply open the PowerPoint Slow, go to File dropdown and resave it as a PPT. Again, note that it fails to work in 2007 MS PowerPoint due to a security check built in which checks the extension against the actual file type.

If you want to edit a PPS or PPSX file without changing the extension, take either of these tips:

1. In Windows Explorer, drag and drop the PPS or PPSX file into an empty PowerPoint window.

2. Launch PowerPoint and open a PPS or PPSX using the File/Office button or the Open option to edit a presentation.

Why convert PowerPoint to Video?

It’s safe to say there are hundreds of millions of PowerPoint presentations around the world that are sitting idle – a library of knowledge that was used once and will probably never be tapped again.

PowerPoint users from companies, schools and government agencies all expressed a desire to have their presentations live on beyond their original use at a meeting or conference. These users point out that for every person who attends a live presentation, countless others could benefit by viewing a presentation later. The problem, as we have all experienced, is that while others can view a static PowerPoint slide deck, only those who attended the original presentation receive the full benefit. People who view it later will not hear the presenter’s voice, or understand what points were emphasized, or hear questions and answers that were discussed.

There is a need for an easy way to capture the full benefit of a PowerPoint presentation; a method that does not require extensive training or expensive equipment

Here are a few instances when converting a PowerPoint file to video would be beneficial:
• To give your corporate audience or sales prospects a take-home video of your narrated presentation on CD-ROM or DVD.
• To record and post your presentation online so that students and parents can review assignments at their convenience.
• To create PowerPoint-based how-to videos for colleagues and customers who are learning to use new software.
• To create a presentation for grandma of her grandchildren and deliver it on DVD in the new DVD player that you bought her for the holidays.

Slide Show vs. Video

It’s important to remember that PowerPoint was not created with video in mind, which is why users create slides and not video frames. Slides, unlike frames, are static and therefore have a smaller file size. Video, which are frames in motion, result in larger file sizes. However, watching a full-motion video of PowerPoint presentation, like watching a movie, is very engaging and memorable.

There are also many recording benefits that are only associated with video, such native real-time and full-motion options. The most popular way for individuals to deliver a rich video presentation is to burn it to CD-ROM or DVD. In a corporate setting employees can save videos to a network drive and a company’s systems administrator can make videos accessible to employees, customers, and partners to view on-demand (regardless of location) by uploading the files to an external server. In some cases, you can even email them to colleagues, friends and family, depending on the file size.

How to Harness the Power of YouTube to Get More Traffic to Your Site

I have seen many webmasters surprisingly ignoring YouTube (even though Google puts YouTube videos on almost every search query nowadays) as a great promotional medium and traffic generator. In this post, I’ll tell you step by step how you can get great traffic from YouTube.

How to Get Traffic from YouTube

1. Create a Nice Video. You can spend 100 bucks and find someone to create a professional video which you can use everywhere, but personally I advise you use software like Moyea PPT to video converter to convert video from PowerPoint presentation the you created, which could be much cheaper.

2. Give it a Nice Title.
The title is one of the most important things of your video. Give it a title which can rank in Google as well as catch user attention, something like “How to Buy Cheap Second Hand Bikes - Example.com.”

3. Don’t forget to Watermark it. Make sure every frame/slide of the video has small watermark of your site.

4. Leave it for More. Create the video in such a way that it’s informative yet leave enough out so the user comes to your site. Saying this, it will be good if the video is indeed informative and useful. Give the 80% on the video and say the rest is on the site.

5. Add a Nice Description.
Put some informative content in the description (i.e., “more info…”) section of your video. Make sure you link to your site from it. Lots of people use YouTube feeds that rip the descriptions of YouTube videos, so that’s added traffic for you. Just imagine how much continuous traffic a video can bring you if it is indeed good and informative.

6. Disable Ratings and Comments. You don’t want those “Your Mom is…” or “Forward this to 5 people or you will die” kind of comments in your video, do you? Just disable comments and ratings.

How to Increase Views of Your YouTube Video

Google normally shows videos which have high views in their SERPs, so you also need to make sure your video initially gets good views (after that it will start going up on its own). For this you can do the following:

1. Promote your video on your blog and almost everywhere. Link it from every place you can find. Link it from Squidoo lenses of yours (I often do this). Send it to friends and others.

2. There are some people at Digitalpoint selling 10k YouTube views for few bucks (eh? must be PTC or proxy traffic), so you can hire them to quickly lead the charts. Remember, people often like to sort the YouTube search results as page views. This is where you can score.

3. If nothing works and you are way too desperate, than start rickrolling (for example, “Check out Hot Latino Teens kissing here “). Ok, I am just joking (you should not play with people’s emotions like this!!!). Anyway, I don’t think things will come to this level if you are imaginative.

My own YouTube case study

Now you should understand how to get more traffic to your site from youtube, just try it.

An .avi file is used to store audio content or video content compressed with various codecs for playing by Windows Media Player on the computer installed with appropriate codecs. AVI files are supported by Microsoft and even by some standalone DVD players.

How to convert PowerPoint to AVI
Here follows two methods that are frequently used in converting PPT to AVI video.

Method 1 Using a professional PowerPoint to video converter like Moyea PPT to Video Converter

Moyea PPT to Video Converter is a popular program that enables you to capture sound and frames from the PowerPoint presentation and save them to any video format like AVI, WMV, MPEG, FLV, MP4, VOB, 3GP, 3G2, MOV or DV. Let's have a look at how to save PowerPoint to AVI with the magic converter.

Step 1 Launch the program and add PPT files
After you have Moyea PPT to Video Converter installed on your computer, launch it and click Add to import PowerPoint files.

Step 2 Set the style to AVI and specify a directory for the output

But if a full motion video is embedded in your slideshow, you need to use a powerful capture app like Camtasia ($299 per copy).

Disadvantages: when using a screen recorder, you have to open your PowerPoint many times, for you can't convert a pile of PowerPoint at a time. Also, you cannot add music or any other effects in during the conversion. Note that this may cause loss of animations, transitions, sound tracks or something else in the source, too.

12 Tips for Delivering a Knockout Business Presentation

By Wendy Russell

The first step is completed. Your wonderful presentation is created and ready for prime time. Now is your chance to shine when you deliver it to an audience. Here are tips to make this presentation a successful venture.

1. Know your material:
Knowing your material thoroughly, will help you decide what information is essential to your presentation and what can be left out. It will help your presentation to flow naturally, allowing you to adjust to unexpected questions or events, and it will help you feel more comfortable when speaking in front of an audience.

2. Don’t Memorize:
This is, after all, a presentation, not a recital. Every presentation needs two major components -- life and energy. Recite from memory and your presentation will be sadly lacking both of these factors. Not only will you lose your audience, but you will be hard pressed to adapt to unexpected events that may throw you off your mental script.

3. Rehearse Your Presentation:
Rehearse your presentation out loud, accompanied by the slide show. If possible, get someone to listen while you rehearse. Have the person sit at the back of the room so you can practice speaking loudly and clearly. Ask your listener for honest feedback about your presentation skills. Make changes where necessary and run through the whole show again. Keep repeating until you feel comfortable with the process.

4. Pace Yourself:
As part of your practice, learn to pace your presentation. Generally, you should spend about one minute per slide. If there are time constraints, make sure that the presentation will finish on time. During your delivery, be ready to adjust your pace in case you need to clarify information for your audience or answer questions.

5. Know the Room:
Be familiar with the place in which you will speak. Arrive ahead of time, walk around the speaking area, and sit in the seats. Seeing the setup from your audience’s perspective will help you decide where to stand, what direction to face, and how loudly you will need to speak.

6. Know the Equipment:
If you are using a microphone, make sure it works. The same goes for the projector. If it’s your projector, carry a spare bulb. Also, check to see if the projector is bright enough to overpower the room’s lighting. If not, find out how to dim the lights.

7. Copy Your Presentation to the Computer’s Hard Drive:
Whenever possible, run your presentation from the hard disk rather than a CD. Running the show from a CD may slow your presentation.

8. Use a Remote Control:
Don’t hide at the back of the room with the projector. Get up front where your audience can see and hear you. Also, just because you have a remote, don’t wander around the room -- it will only distract your audience. Remember you are the focal point of the presentation.

9. Avoid Using a Laser Pointer:
Often the projected light dot on a laser pointer is too small to be seen effectively. If you are at all nervous, the dot may be hard to hold still in your shaking hands. Besides, a slide should hold only key phrases. You are there to fill in the details for your audience. If there is vital information in the form of a chart or graph that you feel your audience must have, put it in a handout and refer to it rather than having to point out specific details of a slide to your audience.

10. Do Not Speak to Your Slides:
Many presenters watch their presentation rather than their audience. You made the slides, so you already know what is on them. Turn to your audience and make eye contact with them. It will make it easier for them to hear what you are saying, and they will find your presentation much more interesting.

11. Learn To Navigate Your Presentation:
Audiences often ask to see the previous screen again. Practice moving forward and backward through your slides. With PowerPoint you can also move through your presentation non-sequentially. Learn how to jump ahead or back to a certain slide, without having to go through the entire presentation.

12. Have a Backup Plan:
What if your projector dies? Or the computer crashes? Or the CD drive doesn’t work? Or your CD gets stepped on? For all these problems, carry a backup of your presentation on a DVD disc or email yourself a video copy. Get your presentation converted in a second, just with Moyea PPT to DVD Burner!

PowerPoint Slides to Press-off TV Show

A happy family watching funny slideshow on TV

A troubled time comes. Economic crisis, together with the fear, anxiety, stress of unemployment, is becoming one of the hottest among everyday topics currently. Then, how can we ward off the ugly feelings to rebuild our missing confidence? The ways may vary, yet the essence keeps the same: Help and Share. Since all of us are closely connected, regardless of color and region, no one can stand alone in face of this great depression. Thus the first lesson we have to learn is to help each other and share more.

As a PowerPoint addict, I would take presentation as media of Help. My suggestion is that we make a presentation about love and care and share it on a home TV with family or friends. I believe that it can relieve the crisis sufferings to some extent. Here I will explain how it works.

Let’s begin with the amazing authoring tool PowerPoint. The charm of contents in form of PowerPoint is evident to almost every computer literate. To move your dear audience, an animated PowerPoint presentation with soft music and lovely pictures does work wonder. Generally, audiences are apt to such visual display rather than a plain text of a course, a promotion, or even a photo album. A presentation of joy integrated with a live video, a nice photo and a host of wipes is a cute cure of fear and stress that can utterly mirror how close you are to your family and friends.

Note: It is recommended to make your presentation brief and illustrative. Never be too long, or it will spoil the viewing fun.

Once finished the presentation, you have to share it somewhere. As to the topic of emotion tie, a home TV could be no more than the best choice. You can direct a TV-style slide show as if a real program maker, neither technical skills nor large expenses are required. All that you need are two simple devices: a PowerPoint-to-DVD burner and a DVD player, one for burning the PowerPoint presentation into TV compliant DVD, and the other for later watching on TV. The former serves as a bridge that turns your authoring presentation into sharing DVD. Related products like Moyea PPT to DVD Burner focus on such conversion and do a lot more than that.

When the presentation is converted to the ubiquitous DVD, connect it to your DVD player.

Turn on the home entertainment, every one sit back, unfetter fear or press, enjoy and escape to the exciting TV show of family love!
